Hi Chris, A quick little report from Saturday’s fishing trip. I fished out in Sherman Island doing the swim bait thing for stripers and black bass with my client Brian Wight, and I caught this nice chrome 12 lb. salmon ( see picture ) On a 5 inch anchovy colored big hammer swim bait. I was fishing the incoming tide along the weed lines when the salmon hit my lure; it was a scrappy hard fighter. and was the bonus fish of the day !!! 40 fish was our total combined for the day, large mouth bass to 3 lbs, and nice keeper stripers to 7 lbs, all on swim baits along weed lines. Also the water temp surprised me, it has really cooled off fast, it was only 60 degrees, much cooler then I thought it was going to be for mid October.

A very pleased Johnny Vannast caught this 56", 56-pound sturgeon on low tide using eel as bait. He caught this nice fish close to the Antioch Bridge on Friday the 29th.

Evan Hubbard and Richard Taylor caught and released this 7 lb black bass on March 2nd. They were fishing near Browns Island using jumbo minnows & caught the fish during a slack tide.

Six-year old Joey caught this nice striper over the weekend with a little help from Dad. The smile says it all!

Another great day of striper fishing by Paul Wong and crew

PAt Jones, his brother butch, his son Justin wanted to do some striper fishing Total for the day were 63 stripers and black bass. All between 1.5 lbs and 7 lbs. Fished the usual spots between Sherman , big break, and franks. Kept a couple of stripers for the BBQ and released all the others to swim free back in the delta.

Jesse Schryver & Jared Foat, new tenants at Lauritzen Yacht Harbor, have been taking advantage of a break from classes and fishing on the Delta. They have not only been catching nice stripers like this one, but they won a tournament last weekend as well---a great way to enjoy the beautiful Delta!

Thy Nguyen Caught this 38.5 pound striper on August 2nd after launching at Lauritzen Yacht Harbor.

This past Saturday my brother butch and I where large mouth bass fishing in our normal spots between franks tract and discovery bay, and when we hooked the fish of a life time !!! And when I say we, I mean we ….. This large mouth bass weighed 15 lbs and 2 oz, on my certified digital scale. Here’s what happened. I caught the giant fish on a river 2 sea swim bait along a weed line, fought it all the way to the boat and when my brother reached down to grab it (because we forgot our net) the fish jumped, popped off, and started to swim away but staying in view to torment me !!! I was dejected and my heart sank to my toes to say the least. But my brother butch, thinking quickly grabbed his jerk bait rod, threw a lucky craft 128 jerk bait at the fish (witch we could still see) and to our amazement the fish engulfed the lure and my brother had the giant fish on, and ended up being able to get the fish to the boat again, so I grabbed it with all my might and held on for dear life !!! We snapped a quick photo and put the bass back into the water and watcher her swim away. Then we both sat there for a few minutes amazed at what we just did. Please enjoy the picture, and we will never ever forget this fish of a life time (we both caught) on the delta…… p.s. we also learned a valuable lesson, never forget your net at home !!!

Bo Yuen and friends caught this nice group of stripers fishing with lures on Friday, June 26th in the morning. The biggest fish was 45" long and weight 30 pounds!!

Curtis Atkinson at Lake Berryessa. Biggest fish 25 lbs

On 6/7 (or 8th) Bev, with Harbormaster Christian, landed this nice lingcod while fishing out of Bodega Bay.
